CVRT Test Center

All makes, models and sizes of commercial vehicles tested in our purpose built bays

We have been authorised CVRT testers since 1980 and are Irelands longest running tester. The current CVRT test has much in common with the NCT test and similar software and equipment is used to carry out the test. A well maintained and serviced vehicle should have little problem in passing the test. Our aim is to provide a fair test to customers and provide them with the solutions to achieve a pass certificate. The prices for the test are set by the RSA, individual test centres operate off these fixed prices. A price list can be viewed here.

The LGV test covers vehicles up to 3500 Kgs gross. This is the test that the majority of commercial vehicles fall into. This test is applicable to most vans and light trucks. If a vehicle can be driven on a category "B" car licence then this is the test you require to tax your vehicle.

The HGV test is for vehicles in excess of 3500 Kgs gross vehicle weight. This is usually truck sized vehicles. Typically this test applies to vehicles which have a tachograph fitted or require a licence type "C1" or "C". While the test is typically for trucks, some vans such as Mercedes sprinters lwb or Ford Transit Jumbo's can fit into this category as they have a GVW in excess of 3500 Kgs.

PSV bus & coach vehicles also undergo this test.

Ambulances are required to have this test
